BELGRADE, October 12. /TASS/. The Central Research Institute "Burevestnik" (part of the concern "Uralvagonzavod" of the Rostec State Corporation) for the first time presented artillery combat modules integrated on the chassis of Serbian production within the framework of the international arms exhibition "Partner-2021", held in Belgrade (Serbia) from October 11 to 14. This was reported to TASS on Monday at the Institute.
"The genuine interest of the organizers and visitors of the exhibition was aroused by the fact that the Russian remote-controlled 32B01 combat module with a 30-millimeter cannon and the uninhabited AU-220M combat module with a 57-millimeter cannon were integrated on a Serbian-made chassis and presented at the stand of the Serbian defense company yUgoimport. This has become one of the main exclusive events of the exhibition," the Central Research Institute stressed.
The Institute noted that the key advantages of the presented artillery modules are an uninhabited combat compartment, control from automated calculation sites in the chassis and high-precision shooting. Equipping the line of light and medium armored vehicles with these modules allows you to significantly expand their combat capabilities.
"This is an important example for both countries of the transition to a new level of military-technical cooperation, when the partnership moves from the usual area of mutual supplies of military equipment to the promising area of its joint development and production," said Georgy Zakamennykh, Director General of the Central Research Institute "Burevestnik", whose words were quoted at the institute.
The Serbian defense company Yugoimport presented for the first time at the Partner-2021 exhibition the newest Lazar III A1 armored personnel carrier equipped with Russian combat modules. According to a source in the Serbian defense industry, the installation of the latest combat modules will significantly increase the export potential of the vehicle. According to him, thanks to the installation of Russian modules, Lazar III is moving from the category of armored personnel carriers to the category of infantry fighting vehicles with significantly improved firepower.
