In Karachay-Cherkessia, the scouts of the mountain unit of the 49th Combined Arms Army of the Southern Military District received an AK-74M assault rifle with a kit of modernization "Body kit".
Unlike the classic versions of the Kalashnikov assault rifle, the new weapon provides for the use of new forearms and receiver covers.
"A handguard made of glass-filled polyamide, a flashlight, a laser designator and other compatible equipment are now mounted on the machine. AK-74M with a kit "Body kit" surpasses the basic product in accuracy by 1.3 times," said Colonel Vadim Astafyev, head of the press service of the Southern Military District.
Recall that for the first time a public demonstration of the AK-74M with a set of KM-AK "Body kit" took place on May 9, 2015. Cadets of the Admiral Makarov Higher Naval School marched through Red Square with upgraded submachine guns.
According to the chief designer of the concern Sergey Urzhumtsev, the upgraded AK-74M can be configured for any tactical task. At the same time, the "body kit" is characterized by maximum simplicity and versatility. All elements of the kit can be installed on the machine in no more than 15-20 minutes. All work can be carried out by the forces of army units, without sending weapons to the factory.
