TSAMTO, October 12. Modern 7.62 and 5.45 mm Kalashnikov assault rifles continue to arrive in the units of the Ground Forces. Since the beginning of the year, new submachine guns have been delivered to combined arms formations and military units of the Eastern, Central, Southern and Western military districts.

In April, a batch of the newest AK-12 assault rifles entered service with the special purpose regiment of the Southern Military District in the Stavropol Territory. Now this regiment of the Southern Military District is one of the first in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation to be completely re-equipped with new small arms.

In June, a batch of AK-12 assault rifles entered service with the motorized rifle unit of the Amur Combined Arms Association of the Eastern Military District.

In September of this year, the peacekeeping unit of the Central Military District, stationed in the Samara region, was completely re-equipped with the latest AK-12 submachine guns.

The servicemen of the Yelninsky Motorized Rifle Division of the Combined Arms Army of the Western Military District received more than 600 units of modern AK-12 assault rifles under the state defense order.

A number of design features were introduced into the machine gun, which made it possible to achieve greater combat effectiveness of the weapon, versatility of use, accuracy and accuracy of shooting. The units receive a sample with firing modes: single shots, automatic fire, a queue with a cutoff of two shots. In addition, the machine has a "hung out" forearm that protects the barrel from external loads, a removable high-performance muzzle brake compensator, the possibility of installing a low-noise and flame-free firing device, a folding, length-adjustable buttstock, a Picatinny rail on the receiver lid for installing collimator, optical and night sights, mechanical sighting devices with a diopter whole. A 40-mm under-barrel grenade launcher is also installed on the machine.

Modern Kalashnikov assault rifles (AK-12 and AK-15) are individual weapons of personnel of combined arms and other units of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, according to the Department of Information and Mass Communications of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
