TSAMTO, October 12. Scouts of the mountain unit of the 49th Combined Arms Army of the Southern Military District in Karachay-Cherkessia received a batch of modernized Dragunov SVDM sniper rifles and army large-caliber sniper rifles ASVK-M "Cord-M" caliber 12.7 mm.
The SVDM rifle is distinguished by reliable exhaust automation, has a weighted barrel with an effective flame suppressor, which contributes to an increase in the level of stability and accuracy of combat. Optical and night sights are mounted on the Picatinny rail on the receiver cover and on the side bar. The SVDM also has backup mechanical sighting devices and a folding bipod mount in the front of the forearm.
The ASVK-M rifle, which is part of the advanced military equipment system "Ratnik", has a lower weight, increased resource (brought to 4,500 shots), as well as the ability to adjust the descent force. The design of the weapon also allows the use of various optical and night sights.
In addition, the reconnaissance units of the 49th Army of the Southern Military District received a modernized AK-74M Kalashnikov assault rifle with a kit of KM-AK "Body kit" modernization, which differ in the presence of a flame extinguisher and a tactical flashlight, unlike the AK-74M for combined arms units.
The kit "Body kit" provides for the use of a new forearm and receiver cover. A handguard made of glass-filled polyamide, a flashlight, a laser designator and other compatible equipment are now mounted on the machine. AK-74M with a kit "Body kit" exceeds the basic product in accuracy of shooting by 1.3 times, the press service of the Southern Military District reports.
