On the instructions of the President of Russia, the budget of the state corporation Roscosmos for the next three years will be reduced by 16% or 150 billion rubles, which, in particular, is due to its failure to fulfill 30 of the 83 programs scheduled for 2020.
Western experts are at a loss to guess what could be behind such a serious decision against the background of statements by the leaders of the space industry about the curtailment of the work of the Russian segment of the ISS after 2024 and the introduction of restrictions for media coverage of activities Roscosmos. In their opinion, this will increase the gap between Russia and the United States (more precisely, from Space X) in the implementation of space programs. However, in fact, we are talking only about the redistribution and saving of previously allocated funds, as well as the curtailment of obviously unpromising programs. So, according to the scientific director of the Institute of Space Policy Ivan Moiseev, for example, it makes no sense to finance the creation of a superheavy launch vehicle, which, as it turned out, will not have a job in the future. Approximately the same picture is with the sOyuz-5, 6, 7 rockets and the promising AMUR, designed to launch satellites into orbit. Since the number of satellites put into orbit by Russia has significantly decreased, primarily due to a reduction in foreign orders, the available capacity turned out to be quite sufficient. In addition, in the near future, the fleet of domestic launch vehicles will be replenished with an almost ready-made "ANGARA". As the publication reports finanz.ru in 2022, the Russian space industry will receive a little more than 210 billion rubles, which is almost 40.5 less than previously planned. Accordingly, in 2023 and 2024, space expenditures will amount to 209.6 and 209.8 billion rubles. Due to the almost failed Federal Target Program (FTP) "Development of Cosmodromes" (out of 26 measures, only 8 were completed), its funding was reduced by 13 billion rubles from 48.5 to 35 billion rubles.
