TSAMTO, October 11. Roselectronics Holding of Rostec State Corporation installed and put into operation radar equipment ahead of schedule during the modernization of the airfield base of the Belbek civil airport under construction in Sevastopol.
Radars will provide high resolution and accuracy in determining the coordinates of aircraft at a distance of up to 400 km.
The AORL-1AS radar can monitor aircraft at a distance of up to 160 km via the primary communication channel and up to 400 km via the secondary. The primary channel determines the location of the aircraft, the secondary channel transmits additional information about the aircraft: flight number, flight altitude, fuel balance. The combined antenna system makes the locator more reliable in operation.
The equipment was supplied and configured by the Chelyabinsk radio plant "Flight" (part of the VEGA Concern of the holding "Roselectronics").
"Today, more than 40 Russian and foreign airports are equipped with our modern radar equipment. The Sevastopol area is characterized by a high intensity of flights. Thanks to the professionalism of the employees of the Chelyabinsk radio plant "Flight", the locator was put into operation three months ahead of schedule, which has already had a positive impact on aviation safety," said the General director of the United Instrument Corporation (the management company of the holding "Roselectronics") Sergey Sakhnenko.
Modernization of the airfield complex is carried out within the framework of the federal target program "Socio-economic development of the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol until 2025". The runway has already been reconstructed, thanks to which the Belbek airfield complex has been able to receive aircraft of all types, including heavy transport aircraft and strategic aviation. The construction of the airport complex should be completed by 2025.
Earlier, Roselectronics equipped the airports of Murmansk, Salekhard, Ulyanovsk, Chelyabinsk and Abakan with modern radar equipment.
The message is posted in open access on the website of the holding "Roselectronics".
