The Agency for External Labor Migration of the country clarified that, according to the applications of Russian departments and companies, a total of 5 thousand workers are planned to be sent to the construction sites of Vostochny
TASHKENT, October 9. /TASS/. Agency for External Labor Migration (AUTM) Uzbekistan, with the participation of specialized Russian companies, has already sent 1,466 Uzbek citizens to the Russian Federation, who will take part in the construction of infrastructure facilities at the Vostochny cosmodrome. This was reported to the TASS correspondent on Saturday by the press secretary of the AUTM Ortikhuzha Norov.
"Since the beginning of October, the Agency for External Labor Migration, with the participation of the Russian Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and other relevant departments, has already sent 1,466 Uzbekistanis to Russia, who are planned to be involved in the construction of infrastructure facilities at the Vostochny cosmodrome. At the same time, according to the applications of Russian partners, it is planned to send a total of 5 thousand workers to the construction sites of Vostochny," Norov said. According to him, the Uzbek and Russian sides have developed a new mechanism for the selection of employees, according to which the AUTM only accepts applications from those wishing to go to work in the Russian Federation and collects them in special centers on certain days.
The selection is carried out directly by Russian departments and companies. According to Norov, first, employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Health of Russia check whether the candidate has a ban on entry into the Russian Federation and whether he has contraindications for health. Then representatives of the customer companies find out whether he has the required construction specialty.
"In a word, most of the selection procedures take place in Uzbekistan, only migrants receive a patent for employment on the spot, in the Russian Federation," Norov said. He noted that previously, some of the migrants who had already bought air tickets, as a rule on loan, were detained at the border due to bans on entry into the Russian Federation, others were screened out during a medical examination in Russia and sent back.
"Such an approach saves people's money and time for Russian companies that need foreign labor," the spokesman said.
Earlier it was reported that in September, an official Russian delegation from representatives of the Ministry of Construction, the Ministry of Health, the city of Moscow, Rostrud, the Ministry of Labor, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Emergency Situations visited Tashkent, where an agreement was signed on the implementation of a pilot project, according to which 10 thousand labor migrants will be attracted to Russia from Uzbekistan.
