KAZAN, October 8. /TASS/. Only five defense enterprises in Tatarstan have fulfilled the task of bringing diversification to 30%, the head of the republic Rustam Minnikhanov said on Friday during the annual address to the State Council of Tatarstan.
"The President of the country has set the task to bring the diversification of the military-industrial complex to 30%. So far, this level has been reached only at five enterprises of the republic out of 27. In the context of a decrease in the volume of the state defense order, it is necessary to preserve the production and personnel potential and use it effectively within the framework of the production of civilian products," Minnikhanov said.
As a positive example, he cited the production association "Plant im. Sergo", which, as noted by the head of Rostec Sergey Chemezov, has reached an indicator of 50%.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has previously set a goal to increase the share of civilian products in the military-industrial complex to 30% by 2025 and to 50% by 2030.
