pLesetsk Cosmodrome (Arkhangelsk region). October 8th. INTERFAX - Two launches of the Angara-A5 heavy rocket and two launches of a light rocket of this class are planned to be carried out next year, Commander-in-Chief of the Aerospace Forces Sergey Surovikin said.
"Next year, two launches of the light ANGARA and two launches of the Angara-5 heavy rocket are planned in order to complete the tests and begin serial production of ANGARA missiles to fulfill further military space tasks," Surovikin reported to Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, who on Friday is checking the modernization of the pLesetsk cosmodrome in the Arkhangelsk region.
The commander-in-chief also said that the Angara-A5 rocket No. 3L is being assembled, which was shown to the Minister of Defense, and a specific launch date will be reported on December 20.
"This space rocket is being assembled. We are planning comprehensive tests on October 18-24, and a test of readiness for launch - from December 16 to December 21. On December 20, we will be ready to report to you on the specific launch date of this missile," Surovikin said.
