VLADIVOSTOK, October 8. /TASS/. The marines of the Pacific Fleet practiced conducting combat during the offensive and defense of the coast at bilateral tactical exercises, which ended in Primorye. More than 5 thousand military personnel were involved in the exercises, the information support department of the Pacific Fleet reported.
"During the exercise, the Marines of the Pacific Fleet practiced practical actions during the conduct of combat in defense and in the offensive. The marine units operating in the attack were transferred in advance from Kamchatka to the waiting area and during the main stage draw carried out the landing of the amphibious assault on the unequipped coast from the large amphibious ships of the Pacific Fleet "Peresvet", "Oslyabya", "Admiral Nevelskoy" and "Nikolai Vilkov" by the method of floating and at close range. The landing was supported by a detachment of surface ships, which struck the firing points of a conditional enemy on the coast, as well as Su-25 attack aircraft and Ka-52 attack helicopters of the Army of the Air Force and Air Defense of the Eastern Military District, " the report says.
The defending Marine brigade, in turn, provided protection of the bridgehead from the advance of a conditional enemy deep into the coast, using non-standard methods of combat during the organization of anti-amphibious defense. During the active phase of the exercise, live firing from armament of armored personnel carriers BTR-82A, BMP-3, 122-mm self-propelled howitzers "Carnation", T-80BV tanks, ZSU "sHilka" took place at the Klerk training ground. The commanders of the Primorsky and Kamchatka marine corps formations did not know the intent of each other's actions and acted according to the actual situation during the exercises. In various episodes of the exercises, more than 5 thousand military personnel, about 900 units of weapons and military equipment, up to 15 ships, boats and support vessels of the Pacific Fleet, as well as more than 10 aircraft and helicopters of army and naval aviation were involved.
"Following the results of the exercise, the fleet command will conduct a detailed analysis of the actions of servicemen at the training ground with an assessment of the effectiveness of the use of tactical techniques and non-standard solutions by brigade commanders," the press service reported.
