ROSTOV-ON-DON, October 8. /TASS/. The units of the Russian military base in Abkhazia have worked out the fight against the drones of a conditional enemy, the press service of the Southern Military District (SE) reported.
The main events of the final inspection of the troops will be held in a bilateral format at 25 combined-arms training grounds in 14 subjects of Southern Russia, as well as at military bases in Abkhazia, Armenia and South Ossetia. The inspection is carried out against the background of the intensification by NATO countries and their partners - Ukraine and Georgia of naval exercises, combat training activities using ship groups, aviation and air defense, missile defense, special forces. NATO exercises are conducted with the transfer of American forces to the Black Sea countries near the borders of the Russian Federation.
"In order to covertly repel enemy air strikes in the designated area, an innovation was worked out on the action of air defense units and electronic warfare from ambushes. Air defense and electronic warfare specialists discovered and classified reconnaissance and attack drones of a conditional enemy flying at various altitudes, after which they carried out fire damage to targets," the report says. The events were held at the Tsabal training ground in the mountains of Abkhazia.
Also, as part of the inspection, the units of the Southern Military District base in South Ossetia were alerted. "..> the fulfillment of the established standards for the receipt of standard weapons, equipment, materiel and the withdrawal of military and automotive equipment to the area of formation of columns was evaluated. According to the results of the first stage of the final inspection, the units of the military base confirmed a high level of combat readiness," the press service of the district reported.
