According to the Director General of Roscosmos, they will be used to control cruise missiles, special forces and an agent network
MOSCOW, October 7. /TASS/. /TASS/. Roscosmos CEO Dmitry Rogozin is convinced that Elon Musk's SpaceX Starlink satellites will be able to be used for military purposes in the future, including for controlling cruise missiles, special forces and an agent network.
"Everyone says it's amazing, it's a private investor. Listen, don't tell fairy tales! This year they received about $900 million, the entire subsidy - $ 20 billion - for the coming period. The question arises, why does the state need it? Because such spacecraft distribute the Internet, they are able to become the only shoulder for controlling cruise missiles, their "flashing" of the flight task already in flight, [can be used to] control special forces, an agent network, [to produce] decomposition directly to mobile phones using the Internet itself of so-called purely political and, most likely, anti-Russian content, so that we cannot sovereignly protect our own Internet," Rogozin expressed his opinion on the air of Channel One.
The head of Roscosmos recalled that 1.8 thousand Starlink spacecraft have been launched to date, the next stage will include the placement of 17 thousand such vehicles, then 42 thousand satellites. He also recalled that now multi-satellite groupings of other countries are being put into orbit.
"Of course, we will not stand still either. We have the SPHERE program, this year we presented it to the president and we will withdraw hundreds of our devices to ensure the protection of our own sovereignty in this information environment," Rogozin concluded.
