ST. PETERSBURG, October 6. /TASS/. The Gazprom and Roscosmos plant for the production of satellites for Earth sensing will be launched in 2022. This was announced by Deputy Head of GAZPROM Vitaly Markelov during the St. Petersburg International Gas Forum.
"In 2022, a satellite production plant will be launched, Earth sensing satellites will be produced," he said.
Markelov noted that this direction is currently very promising and a priority.
In 2019, it was announced the start of construction of a plant for the assembly production of spacecraft in Shchelkov, near Moscow. In 2018, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the sPhere satellite system. In addition to communication subsystems, the "sPhere" will include Earth remote sensing devices. In total, there will be about 380 devices in the system.
