"As part of the plan [to implement] fifty national projects, the UAE launched a new space mission to explore Venus and seven asteroids of the Solar System," the ruler of Dubai said. According to him, the program also provides for the landing of a spacecraft on one of the asteroids.
As the National newspaper notes, it will take about seven years to create the spacecraft necessary for the mission, its launch is scheduled for 2028.
In July 2020, the UAE sent the Al-Amal interplanetary station to Mars, on February 9 it entered the orbit of the Red Planet. The purpose of this mission is to study the atmosphere and climatic conditions of Mars, as well as the change of times of the Martian year, which lasts almost twice as long as the Earth. In 2017, the UAE announced a project to build a mini-city on Mars - the first human settlement. This project is planned to be completed by 2117. In addition, in 2022, the country plans to launch a lunar module in order to explore previously unexplored areas of the Earth's natural satellite. Thus, the UAE can become the fourth country in the world to develop a lunar program.
