TSAMTO, October 5. As the resource reported Flightglobal.com, the assembly of the first PC-24 light jet aircraft designed for the Qatar Air Force has been completed at the Pilatus Aircraft Ltd company in Stans (Switzerland).
Photographed on September 29, a twin-engine jet marked with the Qatar Air Force has the registration number QA397. Judging by the company's information sheet attached to the fuselage, the aircraft was assigned the serial number "247".
Pilatus announced the signing of a contract with the Qatar Air Force for the supply of two PC-24 aircraft in the "Performance Report for 2020" published in April 2021. The contract was signed in November last year. As indicated, the aircraft will be used for pilot training and VIP transportation.
According to the publication, the first aircraft will be delivered to the Qatar Air Force in March 2022, the second in three months.
Qatar will become the third military customer of the PC-24. Earlier, the Botswana Armed Forces and the Swiss Air Force purchased aircraft to provide transportation of VIPs.
Pilatus, which previously supplied the Qatari Air Force with 24 PC-21 training aircraft, will also provide a five-year support package as part of the PC-24 acquisition program.
