On the air of the Zvezda TV channel, a prototype of the S-70 Hunter strike drone was shown. The chief designer of the device, Sergey Bibikov, revealed the features of a promising drone in the "Military Acceptance" program.
The designer noted that the journalists were shown the first prototype of the S-70, which is used to work out new solutions. He stressed that this device is different from the model that will go into the series.
Bibikov stressed that the drone received an information management system (IUS) with artificial intelligence. This allows the "Hunter" to act in conditions of loss of communication with the operator. "It fully performs the functions of the crew at least for the safe return of the device to the home point," the designer explained.
According to Bibikov, designers are now checking the operation of deceleration algorithms after landing. He explained that the absence of a braking parachute and the location of the landing gear supports of the Hunter complicates taxiing and slowing down the vehicle during landing.
The program also showed the control point of the drone, which occupies two containers. In one of the containers there is an operator's seat equipped with five monitors. Part of the screens is used to display flight information, which is complemented by the image from the HUNTER cameras. Two cameras transmit information via two communication channels, which allows you to maintain visual contact when jamming one of them.
Earlier, military expert Alexey Leonkov spoke about the tasks of the Hunter. In his opinion, the S-70 will be able to transmit the coordinates of targets to ship groups.
