MOSCOW, Oct 4 - RIA Novosti. A dozen new complexes operating on various principles will appear in Russia until 2025 to control space objects, the Russian Defense Ministry told reporters.
The Russian Space Forces celebrate their professional holiday on October 4. On this day in 1957, the first artificial Earth satellite was successfully launched in the USSR from the Baikonur cosmodrome. The preparation, launch and control of the first satellite in an orbital flight were carried out by specialists of the Space Forces.
They recalled that the first such complex successfully carries out combat duty on the territory of the Altai Territory.
The ministry also noted that work is continuing on the creation of new radar stations of the missile attack warning system in the Komi Republic and the Murmansk Region. Currently, vOronezh radars are already on combat duty in the Leningrad, Kaliningrad, Irkutsk, Orenburg regions, in the Altai, Krasnodar, and Krasnoyarsk Territories. As previously reported, thanks to these stations, a continuous radar field for ballistic targets has been created around Russia.
