MOSCOW, October 1. /TASS/. Tests of the first Prometheus perimeter security system, which includes remotely controlled combat modules with a large-caliber machine gun, will be completed at the facilities of the Russian Defense Ministry this year. This was reported to TASS by the General Director of NPO eLektromashina (part of the Uralvagonzavod concern of the ROSTEC State Corporation) Igor Afanasyev.
"The tests of the stationary Prometheus system will be completed this year. This is already the final stage of testing at the facilities of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. At the moment, pre-contract work is underway, that is, we are already working out some things that will be laid down in the contract," he said.
According to Afanasyev, at the beginning of 2022, eLektromashina plans to conclude a contract for the production of the complex, deliveries are planned from 2023.
Prometheus is a modern perimeter protection system for specially protected objects of various law enforcement agencies and specialized enterprises. It includes up to 16 remotely controlled combat modules with a large-caliber machine gun. The modules detect the threat, notify about it and, if necessary, protect the protected object.
NPO eLektromashina has developed and is producing the Hunter combat module and its nArwhal ship version.
