The delegations and teams will assess what steps can be taken in relation to space, the Turkish leader said
ANKARA, September 30. /TASS/. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan claimed that Moscow had offered Ankara to establish cooperation in the field of launching rockets into space. The Turkish leader told reporters on board the plane, returning from talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Sochi.
"We talked about space research in Turkey <...> Our delegations and teams will assess what steps can be taken in relation to space. After that, we will determine the time frame and roadmap for this. I hope we will make progress on this issue. In other words, there is a much more advanced proposal in space research. They suggested that we work together to build one platform on land and one in the sea and launch rockets into space from them," NTV quoted him as saying.
In February of this year, the head of the Turkish Space Agency, Serdar Hussein Yildirim, told TASS that Ankara is likely to use the Russian sOyuz spacecraft to fly its first cosmonaut.
