The Belarusian army received the first batch of Russian-made BTR-82A on Thursday.
According to the military news agency "vAyar", the equipment arrived at the Ozerishche railway station, where it was unloaded.
Armored personnel carriers will be delivered to one of the mechanized formations of the ground forces. Also, several vehicles will be sent to the 72nd Training Center and the Military Academy of the Republic of Belarus.
It is noted that the "eighty-second" of this batch are equipped with Belarusian means of communication and sights.
The BTR-82A are armed with 30 mm automatic 2A72 guns stabilized in two planes and paired 7.62 mm PKTM machine guns. The gun, depending on the type of ammunition used, is capable of destroying ground targets at ranges of 2000-3600 meters, as well as low-speed low-flying objects at altitudes up to 2000 m.
The power of the turbodiesel engine is 300 hp. The speed on the highway is 80 km / h and 9 km/ h afloat. The fuel reserve is 700 km.
The total combat weight is 16,000 kg, the capacity is 10 military personnel.
Along with the armored personnel carriers, two armored BRAM-K repair and evacuation vehicles also arrived. Made on the basis of the BTR-80, they are equipped with special welding equipment, a winch 75 meters long. The available cranes of two types can lift loads weighing 1500 kg and 800 kg, respectively.
A 7.62 mm PKTM machine gun with an ammunition set of 2000 rounds was used as an armament. Mobility characteristics are similar to the BTR-82A. The power reserve is 600 km. Weight - 14500 kg. The crew is 4 people.
The arrival of the second batch of such combat vehicles is expected in November this year.
