The press service of the tEchnodinamika holding said that this ensured a reduction in costs and terms of product creation
MOSCOW, September 30. /TASS/. Specialists of the V. V. Bakhirev Nuclear Research Institute (part of the tEchnodinamika holding of the ROSTEC State Corporation) introduced supercomputer technologies and digital twins into the process of developing new ammunition, which ensured a reduction in costs and product creation time. This was reported to TASS on Thursday in the press service of the tEchnodinamika holding.
In particular, a digital twin of the cumulative tank projectile "Twin-KS" was developed. The project included modeling the movement of the projectile in the barrel of a tank gun, the functioning of the ammunition on the trajectory, the behavior of the projectile at the target. The main characteristics of armor-piercing action were also determined.
"The results of the work carried out showed a high identity of modeling during real tests at the landfill, which confirmed the feasibility of developing this direction - the creation of digital doubles," the press service quotes the words of the holding's CEO Igor Nasenkov.
According to him, in 2021, on the basis of all R&D, tEchnodinamika prepared three projects using domestic supercomputer modeling technologies and, together with ROSTEC State Corporation, has developed and is now coordinating a strategy for the digital transformation of all defense enterprises that are part of the holding's management circuit.
As noted in tEchnodinamika, also this year the V. V. Bakhirev Institute is working on the creation of digital doubles for high-explosive tank shells. To date, proposals and working materials have been prepared for the opening of new R&D "Twin-OFS".
