The satellites will be launched on a sOyuz-2.1b carrier rocket with a Fregat upper stage
MOSCOW, September 30. /TASS/. The launch of the gOnets-M satellites No. 33, No. 34, No. 35 on the sOyuz-2.1b carrier rocket from the Vostochny cosmodrome is scheduled for the IV quarter of next year, according to the state procurement website.
"The purpose of the services is to provide <...> transportation of launch vehicles and preparation of components of a space rocket with gOnets-M spacecraft at the facilities of the ground-based space infrastructure of the Vostochny cosmodrome for the launch and launch of the gOnets-M spacecraft No. 33, No. 34, No. 35 in the IV quarter of 2022," the state contract concluded between Roscosmos and the Center for the Operation of Ground-based Space Infrastructure Facilities says.
As specified in the document, the satellites will be launched using a sOyuz-2.1b launch vehicle with a Fregat upper stage. This will be the first launch of the gOnets satellites from the Vostochny cosmodrome.
The previous launch of the gOnets spacecraft took place in December 2020 from the Plesetsk cosmodrome in the Arkhangelsk region.
gOnets is the only Russian low-orbit mobile satellite communication system designed for global information exchange with mobile and stationary objects, as well as for the organization of retransmission channels for various purposes.
