In 2022, Russia plans to launch five ships to the International Space Station, two manned SOYUZ and three cargo PROGRESS. This is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the ISS flight program.
The first launch is scheduled for March 18, Russian cosmonauts Oleg Artemyev, Denis Matveev and Sergey Korsakov will fly on Soyuz MS-21. On September 21, Sergei Prokopyev, Anna Kikina and Dmitry Petelin will go into orbit on Soyuz MS-22.
The launches of the Progress ships are expected from February to October. Progress MS-19 is scheduled to fly on February 15, Progress MS—20 on June 3, and Progress MS-21 on October 26.
By the end of 2021, Russia will make four more launches, on October 5, sOyuz MS-19 will send cosmonaut Anton Shkaplerov, director Klim Shipenko and actress Yulia Peresild to the ISS. Progress MS-18 cargo will launch on October 28, Progress M—UM on November 24, and sOyuz MS-20 with cosmonaut Alexander Misurkin and Japanese space tourists Yusaka Maezawa and Yozo Hirano on December 8.
Earlier, Roscosmos announced that the re-docking of the Yu.A. Gagarin manned transport spacecraft (sOyuz MS-18) from the small research module "Dawn" to the multipurpose laboratory module "Science" of the Russian segment of the International Space Station (ISS) has begun.
The purpose of these events is the release of the RASSVET docking node, to which the sOyuz MS-19 spacecraft with cosmonaut Anton Shkaplerov, director Klim Shipenko and actress Yulia Peresild should dock in October for the filming of the film "Challenge", as well as checking the operation of the SCIENCE docking equipment, to which the sOyuz MS-18 will first dock, and then the Progress MS-17 cargo ship.
