On Tuesday, September 28, the National Defense Control Center of the Russian Federation for the second time in the last three days reported the appearance of a foreign military aircraft near the Russian borders.
This time the incident occurred over the neutral waters of the Black Sea, where our airspace facilities detected an alien object. "In order to identify an air target and prevent it from violating the state border of the Russian Federation, a Su-27 fighter from the air defense forces of the Southern Military District on duty was lifted into the air," the National Center said.
Further events developed as follows. The crew of the Russian fighter identified the object as a strategic reconnaissance aircraft RC-135 of the US Air Force and escorted it over the Black Sea. After the air spy turned away from the state border of the Russian Federation, the Su-27 safely returned to the home airfield.
"The flight of the Russian aircraft was carried out in strict accordance with international rules for the use of airspace. Violations of the state border of the Russian Federation have not been allowed," the National Defense Management Center noted.
Recall that two days earlier it became known about another American plane going towards our state border. It happened on September 26 over the Pacific Ocean. The National Defense Control Center of the Russian Federation then reported that three Russian Su-35 fighter jets were flying to escort a US Air Force B-52N strategic bomber. Realizing that his appearance near our borders did not go unnoticed, the crew of the American plane turned away from the Russian border.
