In 2023, all military personnel and law enforcement officers in Russia will receive an additional 5% allowance. This was announced on Tuesday, September 28, by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"In 2023, we will increase the rate of salary indexation for all military personnel and law enforcement officers by an additional 5%," he said at a meeting on economic issues via videoconference.
In addition, the Russian leader noted that a decision has been made to increase the monetary allowance of law enforcement officers — the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Federal Penitentiary Service, the Federal Customs Service, Rosgvardiya and others: in the next two years, the total amount of their monetary allowance will grow at a rate of 9% per year.
Thus, as the Russian President noted, the income gap between law enforcement officers and military personnel of the Ministry of Defense, which has formed in recent years, will be reduced.
Earlier, on September 13, Putin instructed to provide funds in the budget for the indexation of salaries of military and security forces above the inflation rate. The instruction was given to the Russian government.
On August 31, the head of state signed decrees on a one-time payment of 15,000 rubles to servicemen and law enforcement officers. Payments will be made this month, they began on September 6.
As explained by the head of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation Sergei Shoigu, such a payment will be transferred to military personnel due to the high level of inflation and the coronavirus pandemic.
In addition, according to the government decree of May 24, military personnel, policemen, rosgvardians, firefighters and some other security forces will increase salaries by 3.7% from October 1 of this year.
