Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett said on September 27 that Iran plans to arm forces allied to Tehran with drones, including in Iraq, Syria, Lebanon and Yemen. Bennett made such a statement at the general political discussion of the 76th session of the UN General Assembly.
As the Israeli Prime Minister pointed out, we are talking about unmanned vehicles "armed with deadly weapons that can attack anywhere at any time."
"Iran plans to arm its satellites in Yemen, Iraq, Syria and Lebanon with hundreds and then thousands of deadly drones. They plan to cover the skies of the Middle East with this deadly force, " Bennett said.
On September 15, Israeli Defense Minister Beni Gantz said that Iran could create a nuclear bomb in a few months. Tehran is increasing its uranium enrichment at such a pace that in the next two or three months it can acquire all the necessary materials and capabilities for the production of nuclear weapons, Gantz believes. In addition, the Israeli minister allowed the beginning of a nuclear arms race in the region if the Iranian authorities manage to cross the appropriate threshold.
On the same day, the Israeli ambassador to the Russian Federation, Alexander Ben Zvi, said that the Jewish state opposes the restoration of the Iranian nuclear deal. According to him, "many factors that are very important and related to strategic issues"were not included in this deal.
On August 27, US President Joe Biden, during talks with the Israeli Prime Minister, said that if a diplomatic approach does not work with Iran, the United States has other measures. At the same time, the American leader confirmed the inviolability of Israel's support in the security sphere, as well as the commitment to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.
On August 24, Bennett announced his intention to create a coalition of Arab countries seeking to limit Iran's influence in the region.
Before that, on August 6, Iran categorically rejected the accusations of the attack on the Mercer Street tanker in the Arabian Sea, which Israel accused it of. In addition, in turn, the Deputy Permanent Representative of Iran, Zahra Ershadi, accused Israel of strikes on Syria and Lebanon and of possessing nuclear weapons.
The incident with the attack on the ship occurred on the night of July 30. Then a chemical tanker was attacked in the Arabian Sea about 280 km from the coast of Oman. The ship was traveling without cargo from Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, to the Arabian port of Fujairah. As a result of the attack, citizens of Great Britain and Romania were killed.
Later it became known that the attack was probably carried out with the help of a drone.
