The newest Chinese wheeled armored personnel carrier will be shown for the first time in Zhuhai at the international aviation and space salon Airshow China 2021. This large-scale event will begin its work on September 28.
The three-axle vehicle, whose official name is still unknown, has received a new uninhabited combat module. It is assumed that he is armed with a 30-mm rapid-fire cannon, with which a 7.62-mm machine gun is paired. The ammunition is isolated from the landing compartment.
On the right side there is a paired launcher, raised in the combat and lowered in the stowed position, designed to launch two anti-tank missiles. Outwardly, they resemble the third-generation Red Arrow 12 already in the troops with thermal imaging homing heads.
It is believed that these ATGMs are analogs of the American Javelin. Their range is up to 4000 meters, they are able to penetrate up to 1100 mm of tank armor, reinforced with dynamic protection.
It is possible that in the future a turret equipped with a 40-mm automatic gun will also be installed on this platform.
In the landing compartment, access to which is located in the stern, a squad of infantrymen in full equipment is placed. Judging by the video materials published on the Network, the suspension is hydropneumatic, allowing you to change the ground clearance. The diesel engine is in the front part on the right, the driver is placed next to it.
It is still unclear whether the armored personnel carrier is able to overcome water obstacles by swimming. The booking is modular, the bottom is seriously reinforced, which should save the lives of servicemen during explosions on mines or land mines. These characteristics have already been tested during real tests at landfills.
According to military experts, the new car is intended primarily for export deliveries. It will be offered to foreign buyers along with the three-axle Type 92 developed in the first half of the 90s, also known as the WZ 551.
At the same time, it is possible that some specialized modifications will be adopted by units of various branches of the People's Liberation Army and the armed militia of China.
