Two Express communications satellites, Express-AMU3 and Express - AMU7, are planned to be sent into orbit on Proton-M
MOSCOW, September 27. /TASS/. The train that transported the Proton-M carrier rocket arrived at the Tyuratam station (a station near the Baikonur cosmodrome). This is stated in the message of Roscosmos, distributed on Monday.
"An echelon with a Proton-M carrier rocket has arrived at the Tyuratam railway station," Roscosmos said in a Twitter message.
According to the state corporation, the echelon is currently being inspected, after which it will be transferred to the NC "Kazakhstan Railways" and the Yuzhny Space Center and transported to the site No. 92 of the Baikonur cosmodrome.
It is planned to send two Express communication satellites-Express-AMU3 and Express - AMU7-into orbit on the Proton-M carrier rocket. Previously, these satellites were supposed to be launched in 2020. In September last year, the general director of the M. F. Reshetnev ISS, Nikolai Testoyedov, said in an interview with TASS that their production was delayed due to the late delivery of the payload for these devices from Italy due to the coronavirus pandemic. In December, the Director General of Roscosmos, Dmitry Rogozin, announced that the launch of satellites was postponed to the end of 2021.
