A resident of the capital's SEZ is upgrading a line of industrial microchips for use in the Arctic

A resident of the Technopolis Moscow SEZ, the Micron company is modernizing the production of industrial microchips for efficient operation in the most extreme conditions. This was announced by the head of the Department of Investment and Industrial PolicyAlexander Prokhorov.

"GC" Micron " is a leading resident of the microelectronics cluster in the capital's special economic zone and one of the largest manufacturers in Russia. It accounts for almost 30% of the output in this cluster in the first six months of 2021. The company plans to modernize the line of power management chips used in industrial automation equipment, medical equipment, as well as in equipment for use in extreme conditions: from Arctic latitudes and deep — sea operations to space, " said Alexander Prokhorov.

According to the General Director of the SEZGennady Degtev, the project implementation period will be three years.

The modernization will improve the technical characteristics and economic parameters of these chips, expand the range of their applications.  It will also serve to modernize devices in various areas of the digital economy — " said the General Director of the SEZ.



The Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation has provided a subsidy of 150 million rubles for the implementation of the Micron high-tech production project.

We will work out the production technology of a new line of microchips that has a great potential for expansion due to versatility and economic parameters — " said the Director for Strategic Development of JSC "Micron" Karina Abagyan. 



Development work on this project will be carried out jointly with the NPK" Technological Center", which carries out comprehensive research and development in the field of micro - and nanoelectronics, micro - and nanosystem technology and devices based on them. 

"NPK" Technological Center "is constantly expanding its range of activities, mastering new technologies, developing radio-electronic equipment and devices based on nanotechnologies, said the General Director of NPK "Technological Center" Vyacheslav Svetukhin. Participation in this project, according to him, will allow together with "Micron" to offer the market modern integrated circuits of wide application, which will improve the quality of domestic industrial equipment.
