Washington. September 24. INTERFAX-Iran needs to act quickly if it wants to resume negotiations on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), Acting Assistant Secretary of State Joey Hood said in an interview with the inter-Arab TV channel al-Arabiya.
"Our commitment to participate is not indefinite. Because at some point, the JCPOA will no longer have the non-proliferation advantages that were previously assumed. Therefore, we call on the Iranians to act quickly and meet with us in Vienna, " Hood said.
"You have to ask the Iranians why there is no progress - because we are waiting for them to return to Vienna, "Hood added in an interview with Al - Arabiya.
He also noted that as part of the negotiations on the nuclear deal, it is also necessary to discuss Iran's ballistic missile development program and the activity of its paramilitary groups in the region.
"We need to return the nuclear program to a purely civilian course, and also make sure that we have taken into account the concerns of the world community," Hood concluded.
Earlier on Friday, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amira Abdollahiana said that Tehran will return to the negotiating table in the very near future on the revival of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) on the Iran deal.
According to him, this will happen "very soon".
