INTERFAX - The situation in Afghanistan and the continuation of the Russian-American dialogue on strategic stability were discussed in a telephone conversation between Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev and US Presidential aide Jake Sullivan, the press service of the Russian Security Council staff reported.
"Issues related to Russian-American relations were discussed. The importance of continuing the dialogue between Russia and the United States on issues of strategic stability and information security was emphasized. (...) When discussing regional issues, the situation in Afghanistan was touched upon, " said Yevgeny Anoshin, press secretary of the Russian Security Council staff.
"A high assessment was given to the interaction between a number of departments of the two countries, including the meeting held on the eve of the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces and the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the US Armed Forces," he said.
