TSAMTO, September 24. During the recent DSEI (Defense and Security Equipment International) exhibition, BAE Systems for the first time demonstrated the CV-90 armored combat vehicle equipped with a new D-series turret.

The upgraded digital tower was recently selected by the NE of the Netherlands as part of the extensive modernization program of the CV-9035NL BBM at a cost of $ 500 million, and is also included in the supply offer for the CV-90 Mk BBM.4 of the Czech Armed Forces.

The new turret for the CV-90 was developed at BAE Systems Hagglunds in Ernskeldsvik (Sweden) as part of the continuous improvement of the IFV, taking into account the results of the analysis of the experience of combat use of equipment and data from seven members of the "CV90 user club": Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland and the Netherlands.

The turret is armed with a 50-mm cannon, the position of which has been changed to improve the balancing of the machine, to ensure the possibility of using new weapons that allow increasing firepower. Carrying the gun forward will also increase the comfort of the crew's accommodation and increase the ammunition carried. Additional armor will allow you to achieve the necessary level of protection.

As part of the modernization of the CV-9035, the Dutch Armed Forces will also be equipped with the Iron Fest active protection system of Elbit Systems and a PU with two Spike-LR anti-tank missiles located on the right side of the tower/"Spike-LR2 " by Rafael Advanced Defense Systems. In addition, the update also provides for the installation of a new electron-optical aiming system, the integration of promising electronics by switching to a fourth-generation digital highway with a more reliable cybersecurity system, software for using artificial intelligence elements and augmented reality technology.

At the DSEI exhibition, BAE Systems also presented the armored articulated all-terrain vehicle BvS-10, which is in service with the Armed Forces of Austria, France, the Netherlands, Sweden and the United Kingdom. The platform was developed on the basis of outdated Bv-206 all-terrain vehicles, more than 10 thousand of which were sold to more than 40 countries.

The BvS-10 can overcome rocks, mountains, snow, swamps and work in Arctic conditions, overcome water obstacles by swimming. The modular design of the machine allows you to adapt it to changing tasks. Earlier in 2021, the Swedish Armed Forces placed a new order for the supply of 127 Bv-S10, including additional command vehicles, as well as supply vehicles.
