Baykar Defense Company has introduced a new unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) Bayraktar DIHA. The presentation of the vertical take-off and landing drone took place within the framework of the International Aviation, Space and Technology Festival Teknofest-2021, which is being held in Turkey. This is reported by the Habericerik publication.
Bayraktar DIHA may become part of the air group of the universal landing ship TGG Anadolu. The wingspan of a drone with a fuselage length of 1.5 meters is 5 meters. The take-off weight of the DIHA reaches 30 kilograms, and the payload mass does not exceed 5 kilograms.
The Turkish development can stay in the air for up to 12 hours, and its maximum flight range is 150 kilometers. The main difference between the DIHA and the company's previous models is the possibility of vertical takeoff and landing. In addition to one pusher propeller, the DIHA received four propellers for vertical takeoff and landing.
The manufacturer claims that the Bayraktar DIHA is capable of flying in automatic and semi-automatic mode. The drone can also take off and land automatically. DIHA landing is possible in three modes: with the help of horizontal screws, by means of a parachute and landing with mileage.
Earlier, the general designer, Deputy General Director of the Almaz-Antey concern Pavel Sozinov said that the Turkish Bayraktar TB2 reconnaissance and strike drone is an easy target for Russian anti-aircraft missile systems.
