TSAMTO, September 22. The Marine Corps of the Caspian Flotilla received upgraded 5.45-mm Kalashnikov – AK-74M assault rifles with a kit of modernization "Body kit" (for ground forces and intelligence).
These samples of small arms are intended for rearmament of amphibious assault and reconnaissance units.
The new machines have a length-adjustable butt, improved magazines made of translucent polymer. For the installation of various attachments, they are equipped with a Picatinny rail. Also, the new weapon retains the ability to mount a bayonet knife and a grenade launcher under the barrel. The kit "Body kit" includes day and night sights, laser designators, flashlights.
The submachine guns received by the Marine Corps reconnaissance units are additionally equipped with a tactical handle, a device for silent and flame-free shooting.
To date, about 500 units of this small arms have already been received by the marine corps units of the flotilla, the press service of the Southern Military District reports.
