Moscow. September 22. INTERFAX-The Russian frigate Admiral Essen has made a call at the port of Cyprus, within which it will replenish supplies, the press service of the Black Sea Fleet (Black Sea Fleet) reported on Wednesday.
"The frigate of the Black Sea Fleet Admiral Essen, performing tasks as part of the permanent grouping of the Russian Navy in the Mediterranean Sea, entered the port of Limassol of the Republic of Cyprus. As part of the business call, the ship replenished its material reserves, and the frigate's crew had the opportunity to rest," the fleet said in a statement.
It is noted that the frigate's entry into a foreign port was carried out in accordance with the ship's stay plan in the Mediterranean Sea and the resupply schedule.
The frigate "Admiral Essen" has been performing its tasks in the far sea zone since August 2021.
The frigate Admiral Essen is the second ship of the marine zone of Project 11356. The ships of this series have a displacement of about 4 thousand tons, a speed of 30 knots, a navigation autonomy of 30 days. They are armed with Kalibr-NK cruise missiles, the Shtil-1 anti-aircraft missile system, the A-190 artillery gun of 100 mm caliber, anti-aircraft artillery, a rocket bomb launcher, torpedoes, and can also carry a Ka-27 (or Ka-31) deck helicopter.
