Ekaterinburg. September 21. INTERFAX-Russian Su-34 fighter-bombers, Su-25 and Su-24MR aircraft together with the Su-25 of the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan are working out fire tasks to destroy the positions of a conditional enemy within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) "Peace Mission-2021" exercise in the Orenburg region, the press service of the Central Military District reported on Tuesday.
"In the course of joint actions, Russian pilots perform aerial reconnaissance of the area, practice the destruction of advancing columns and bomb attacks on anti-aircraft installations of terrorist formations. Su-25 attack aircraft of the Republic of Kazakhstan during air raids launch missile strikes on the artillery positions of the "enemy", the message says.
The exercise of the armed forces of the SCO countries "Peace Mission-2021" takes place at the Donguz training ground in the Orenburg Region, for the first time the military contingent of Belarus takes part in it.
In total, about 5.5 thousand military personnel and more than 1.2 thousand units of weapons, military and special equipment are involved in the exercise. In particular, 30 aircraft and helicopters, including Su-34 fighter-bombers, Su-24MR reconnaissance aircraft, Su-25 attack aircraft, Mi-24 attack helicopters, Mi-8 transport and combat aircraft and Il-76 aircraft.
The aviation group involved in the exercise included flight crews from five regions of the Russian Federation, the united Russian military base "Kant" in Kyrgyzstan and pilots of the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan, the Central Military District reported.
"The implementation of combat training tasks during the exercise" Peace Mission-2021 " will be carried out taking into account the development of the military-political situation in the Central Asian region. The units will work out ways to counter new tactical techniques used by international terrorist organizations, combat unmanned aerial vehicles, and prevent terrorist attacks using chemical and biological weapons, " the military district said.
