MOSCOW, September 21. /TASS/. Sputnix (a resident of Skolkovo) plans to launch small spacecraft under the Space-Pi program, including for automatic identification of ships (AIS), in the first quarter of next year. This was reported to TASS in the press service of the organization.
"The launch with the participation of spacecraft within the framework of the Space-Pi project is currently scheduled for the first quarter of 2022," the company said.
According to the press service, the regular preparation of spacecraft under the project of the Space-Pi Innovation Promotion Fund, including satellites for AIS, is still underway. "Payloads are being integrated with satellite platforms, "Sputnix explained.
The devices, the company added, will be ready for launch by the end of this year. They will go into orbit as a passing load.
The Space-Pi program is a scientific and educational project for the development and production of small spacecraft ("Kubsat" format, satellites with a size of 10x10x10 cm) on a Russian digital platform.
