Nur-Sultan. September 19. INTERFAX-KAZAKHSTAN - As part of a sudden combat readiness check conducted since the beginning of September 2021, troops were transferred to the western and southern regions of Kazakhstan, the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the republic reported.
"The maneuvers involve interdepartmental, interspecific groups of troops totaling up to nine thousand people, about three thousand units of weapons and military equipment, including 66 aircraft and eight ships," the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan said in a statement on Sunday.
The transfer of troops was carried out in various ways: under its own power on military equipment, by rail and air transport, including using the capabilities of civil aviation.
According to the ministry, the advanced units were transferred by military transport and civil aviation aircraft. Railway transport carried out the transportation of units and divisions of the Ground Forces with military equipment to unfamiliar ranges for them. As part of the implementation of combat training tasks, the units occupied the designated areas and carried out their engineering equipment.
The grouping of army and front-line aviation has been relocated to operational airfields and the airfield section of the Aktau - Zhanaozen highway.
Ships of the Naval Forces carry out the protection and defense of bases in the Caspian Sea.
"In the future, formations and units will continue to perform combat training tasks related to the practical use of forces and means. The completeness and quality of the actions of the troops will be evaluated by the General Staff of the Armed Forces, " the publication notes.
