MOSCOW/ZLATOUST, 19 Sep-RIA Novosti. The new CEDAR-PARA submachine gun, designed for law enforcement agencies and special forces forces, was developed on an initiative basis by Zlatoust Machine-Building Plant (Zlatmash, part of the Roscosmos state Corporation), state tests of weapons will begin in 2022, Vadim Astashin, head of the Small arms Sales Bureau of Zlatmash JSC, told RIA Novosti on the Day of the Gunsmith.
The submachine gun is designed for close combat in the city. With its relatively small size and weight, it has a great firepower. The rate of fire is 1000 rounds per minute, the initial velocity of the bullet is 430 meters per second, the muzzle energy is 638 Joules, the resource is 10,000 shots.

In August 2021, "CEDAR-PARA" was successfully tested under the supervision of the FKU NGO "Special Equipment and Communications" of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. The units that tested the new submachine gun offered to equip it with picatinny bars so that various attachments (a flashlight, a laser designator, etc.) could be installed on it.Such changes have already been made to the design of this submachine gun, Astashin said.
State tests of the new submachine gun are scheduled for the beginning of 2022, after that a decision will be made on its commissioning.
This is not the first development of the Zlatmash enterprise, which has its "weapons" history since 1939. The company produces rifled hunting weapons, combat, service and pneumatic weapons.
