The armed formations of the Ansar Allah movement (Houthis) continue to destroy unmanned aerial vehicles of the Saudi coalition. So, this week it became known that another Wing Loong 2 attack drone of Chinese production was shot down over the province of Saada.
The UAV was performing a combat mission and even managed to launch one of the suspended high-precision ammunition when it was overtaken by an anti-aircraft guided missile (SAM), known under the designation "358".
As a result of an accurate hit, several fragments separated from the drone, after which it began to fall to the ground, tumbling.
In June, it was reported about the hit of the same missile in the American Scan Eagle .
The authors of the Oryx blog tried to calculate how many samples of this equipment were lost during the fighting since March 2015, when Saudi-led forces entered Yemen.
Only visually confirmed data was included in the published list. In total, about four dozen drones were lost during this time, and the largest, 9 pieces each, fall on 2019 and the current year.
At the same time, Saudi Arabia lost twenty UAVs, the United Arab Emirates - eleven, and the United States - seven.
If we talk about the manufacturing countries, fourteen devices are manufactured in China ( nine are CH-4B, the rest are Wing Loong I and Wing Loong II), ten are in the United States, including four MQ-9B Reaper and two MQ-1B Predator.
