Russian troops began receiving S-500 Prometheus anti-aircraft missile systems. Yesterday, on September 16, the TASS news agency reported that the S-500 Prometheus complex passed state tests, and it began to be delivered to the army.
"State tests have just been completed and the first deliveries of this complex have begun. And that is not yet in the full nomenclature that Almaz-Antey must make at the request of the customer. These are such configurations of the complex of the agreed composition, " said Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Yuri Borisov.

Also, according to Borisov, India may become the first country to receive export samples of the S-500 Prometheus. At the same time, supplies can be adjusted after saturation with new complexes of the Russian army.
The S-500 Prometheus system was developed as a replacement for the S-400 Triumph. According to the developers, it will become an effective means of combating aviation and missiles for the next 25 years. The declared target range is up to 600 km. The main function of the S-500 air defense system is the fight against medium-range ballistic missiles with a range of up to 3,500 km.
