Moscow.September 16. INTERFAX-GLONASS JSC will participate in the launch of innovative services for cars connected to the road infrastructure on the A-113 Central Ring Road (CCAD), the company's press service reports.
"The corresponding memorandum was signed within the framework of the VII International Forum "Innovative Technologies and Intelligent Transport Systems in Road Construction" held in Sochi, " the message said on Thursday.
According to the press service, during the planned experiment, connected and highly automated cars will exchange information with the prepared road infrastructure of the Central Ring Road about the repair of the roadway, accidents along the way, critical weather reports and other disturbances on the highway. It is also planned to work out mutually beneficial scenarios for the use of connected and unmanned vehicles - for motorists and road owners, logistics companies, manufacturers of road and special equipment, suppliers of technical solutions and operating organizations.
"The parties expect that by the end of this year, the directions of cooperation and the timing of the pilot project will be determined, the participants of which, in addition to GLONASS JSC, are the state company Avtodor, Business Lines, ITECO Russia, Daimler Kamaz Rus, Mercator Holding, Kazan-Telematics and Kapsh Traffikcom Russia," the press release says.
It is reported that the experts of JSC "GLONASS" took part in the business program of the forum.
"The service of high-precision positioning (the international name is PPP, Precise Point Positioning), which is developed by GLONASS JSC, is based on the mode of absolute navigation of high accuracy on a global scale. Consumer equipment receives signals from global navigation satellite systems and high-precision ephemeris-time information and calculates a navigation solution with an error of up to 10 cm at any point in the Eurasian and Arctic regions, "Pavel Varnavsky, Director of the Navigation Products Department of GLONASS JSC, noted in the report.
According to him, the main advantage of this technology is that there is no need to use ground navigation infrastructure, which allows achieving significant cost savings in conditions of a large length of roads. One of the examples of using the PPP service is its use for positioning highly automated vehicles. As a result, coordinated navigation between vehicles, identification of road objects and road lanes is achieved.
"Artem Klimovsky, Director for Development and Support of ERA-GLONASS Products, told the forum participants about the possibilities of integrating ERA-GLONASS traffic control systems with traffic management systems. One of these projects was a joint "pilot" with the state-owned company Avtodor, " the report says.
Klimovsky noted that in the event of an accident or other emergency on a paid section of the highway, data on the vehicle with the exact coordinates of the accident site is transmitted to the ERA-GLONASS traffic police, and then redirected not only to emergency operational services, but also to the automated traffic management system of the state company Avtodor. The alarm signal is sent to the emergency commissioners who are closest to the point of the accident and can help the victims as quickly as possible and remove damaged vehicles from the high-speed highway. Currently, the service is being tested on the M4 "Don" highway from 21 km to 211 km.
