A photo of the launch of a ballistic missile by the North Korean military from a railway train appeared on the Network.
- Now the DPRK is shooting from trains? - the author of the post asks.
Judging by the published footage, the missile launched from the composition belongs to short-and medium-range operational and tactical ammunition. It is too small for an intercontinental-class ballistic missile.
Nevertheless, this is a serious achievement of the DPRK's technical thought. Many serious technical problems need to be solved to be used as railway car launchers. Suffice it to say that the United States at one time abandoned the "rocket trains" project because of its complexity and high cost. And the Soviet Union implemented such a project by building the Molodets BZHRK with intercontinental ballistic missiles. The" rocket trains " of the USSR had excellent mobility and stealth: a train disguised as an ordinary freight train could travel up to a thousand kilometers in a day, ending up at any point of the extensive network of Soviet railways.
