TSAMTO, September 16. The Trilateral Defense Partnership of Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States (AUKUS) is designed to guarantee its participants the possession of the most modern means of responding to rapidly developing threats.
This, as reported by RIA Novosti, was stated by US President Joe Biden.
"This initiative is aimed at providing each of us with the most modern capabilities for maneuvering and defending against rapidly evolving threats. AUKUS will unite our sailors, scientists, and industry to preserve and expand our superiority," Biden said at the presentation of the initiative.
Among the areas in which the AUKUS participants intend to cooperate, he named cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, quantum technologies, and the development of underwater space.
The first project of the partnership will be equipping the Australian fleet with nuclear submarines with conventional weapons, RIA Novosti reports.
