The American company AM General has introduced a new version of the Humvee army SUV. The upgraded Humvee NXT 360 tactical vehicle was presented at the DSEI-2021 defense exhibition in London. This is reported by the Army Recognition portal.
The NXT 360 is based on the Humvee production car platform. The new model is distinguished by an upgraded suspension and a boosted engine. The modular design allows you to use different versions of the body, accommodating from two to six passengers.
The exhibition showed a version of the NXT 360 with a remote-controlled Kongsberg RWS combat module with a large-caliber machine gun. The vehicle's armament is synchronized with the BBN Boomerang shot locator, which allows you to determine the direction of fire.
The basic model of the updated Humvee was presented in 2018. The car received ABS, a stabilization system and an anti-slip system. The NXT 360 is equipped with a 253 horsepower GEP V8 6.5 engine. The car is a deep modernization of the Humvee army SUV, which has been operated in the US Armed Forces since 1983.
At the end of August, pictures of the construction of copies of Humvee made of plywood appeared . The mock-ups of the machines were intended for practicing logistics during the exercises.
