The servicemen of the country's Combat Army Reserve (BARS) will master the tactics and use of all-terrain vehicles with machine-gun and anti-tank weapons. Training sessions for the crews of automobile "wheelbarrows" will be held at the Tarskoye training ground.
For this purpose, a training camp has been prepared on the basis of the 58th Army in North Ossetia, according to the press service of the Southern Military District. The training of "partisans", as the army informally calls reservists, will begin on September 22.
The commander of the district, Army General Alexander Dvornikov inspected the training camp.
One of the" trends " of local wars in the Middle East are civilian SUVs with mortar, rocket or artillery-machine gun weapons. As practice has shown, "cars" are ideal for making deep reconnaissance and sabotage raids on enemy territory.
Recall that in Russia, the presentation of the official "wheelbarrows" took place in 2015. The suspension was reinforced for army SUVs. Cars with a 4x4 wheel formula received a 2.7-liter engine and have a load capacity of up to one ton.
SUVs also have an awning with a removable cape in the upper part. The vehicles can be retrofitted with a large-caliber 12.7-mm machine gun "Cord" and a 30-mm automatic grenade launcher "Flame". Depending on the purpose of the machine, they are armed with one large-caliber machine gun, an automatic grenade launcher AGS-17 "Flame" or ATGM. If necessary, they can carry heavier weapons, including a 120-mm mortar and ammunition.
"Reservists will be trained at the training ground to ensure the protection and defense of particularly important military and state facilities," the military department reports.
For a comfortable stay of the BARS units in the field camp there are leisure rooms, showers, a dining room and a bath and laundry complex.
