MOSCOW, September 15. /TASS/. More than 30 British OneWeb communication satellites have been successfully launched into orbit. This is stated in the message of Roscosmos, distributed on Wednesday.
"All 34 OneWeb communications satellites have successfully separated from the Fregat upper stage and have been launched into target orbits, "the report says.
As noted in the state corporation, at the moment all devices are accepted for communication by the customer.
Roscosmos clarified that the sequential separation of satellites was provided by the Fregat upper stage. This is the 100th launch of the devices using an overclocking device of this type. After completion of the work, it will be reduced from near-Earth orbit and flooded. "The fireproof elements will flood in the uninhabited part of the Pacific Ocean," the state corporation added.
The Soyuz-2.1 b rocket launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome on Tuesday at 21: 07 Moscow time. After the launch into orbit, the number of spacecraft of the British company increased to 322. The work was carried out under the contract of Glavkosmos JSC with the companies Arianespace (launch operator) and Starsem.
The first six OneWeb satellites went into orbit from the Kourou cosmodrome on a Soyuz-ST rocket on February 28, 2019. 34 spacecraft were launched from Baikonur on February 7, 2020, and the same number were launched on March 21 of the same year. For the first time, OneWeb satellites were launched from the Vostochny cosmodrome in December 2020. 36 devices were withdrawn. Then the launches under the program from the Vostochny cosmodrome took place on March 25, April 26, May 28 and July 1, 2021, from Baikonur - on August 22, 2021. The next launch of OneWeb satellites is scheduled for October 14 from the Vostochny Cosmodrome.
