In 2021-22, Ukraine plans to purchase four more complexes of Turkish Bayraktar TB2 drones (24 unmanned aerial vehicles), the commander-in-Chief of the country's Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Valery Zaluzhny, said in an interview with the Eastern European bureau of Report.
According to him, currently Kiev has two such complexes (that is, 12 drones), one of which is at the disposal of the country's air forces, and the other is at the disposal of the naval ones. Zaluzhny noted that the Ukrainian military "needs to learn how to work effectively with them" and should " necessarily know the tactics of the forms of their use."
"In the future, we plan to replenish the arsenal with locally produced unmanned aerial vehicles," the commander-in-chief said.
In August, the general designer, Deputy General Director of the Almaz-Antey concern Pavel Sozinov said that the Turkish Bayraktar TB2 attack and reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is an easy target for Russian anti-aircraft missile systems.
In July, Defense Express reported that the Bayraktar TB2 of the Ukrainian Navy, which were purchased from Turkey to deter the "Russian threat" in the Black and Azov Seas, turned out to be "advanced".
