It lasted 6 hours and 54 minutes
NEW YORK, September 12. /TASS/. Japanese astronauts Akihiko Hoshide and Frenchman Tom Pesquet returned to the International Space Station (ISS) on Sunday after almost seven hours of work in outer space. The broadcast was conducted on the website of the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration.
The spacewalk lasted 6 hours and 54 minutes, during which time the astronauts assembled and installed a mount for the new iROSA solar panel, and also replaced a special device that measures the electrostatic potential of the station's systems.
Hoshide's partner was originally supposed to be NASA astronaut Mark Vande Hai. Their spacewalk was scheduled for August 24, but was postponed due to health problems at Vande Hai. What exactly these problems were, NASA did not specify, indicating only that they do not require emergency measures.
The current spacewalk was already the 12th for the current year. During all this time, the ISS crews performed 244 spacewalks, the total duration of which is 64 days, 5 hours and 54 minutes.
