Moscow. September 10. INTERFAX-Combat crews of the S-400 and Pantsir-S complexes repelled a massive air strike by a simulated enemy in the Nizhny Novgorod Region as part of the strategic Russian-Belarusian exercise "West-2021", the Russian Defense Ministry reported on Friday.
"After the detection by means of reconnaissance and classification of radio-technical units of air targets of a conditional enemy, processing and analyzing the information received, the combat crews of the S-400 and Pantsir-S complexes received accurate target designations, captured targets and destroyed air targets with electronic launches of anti-aircraft missiles," the report says.
It is noted that in total, more than 50 targets were detected in the entire range of heights and speeds in a complex jamming environment as part of the tasks of covering positional areas and repelling an air attack by a simulated enemy.
The Zapad-2021 exercises will be held until September 15 at the training grounds of Russia and Belarus, as well as in the southern part of the Baltic Sea.
